Ryan Eugene MacDonald began recording his adventures when he visited Mexico City and Oaxaca, Mexico during the Spring of 2000. Since then, Ryan has visited Greece, Jamaica, Italy, Turkey, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Ireland, as well as extensive travel throughout the United States.
Always the observer, Ryan most enjoys sitting back and watching the daily bustle and street traffic in any major metropolis. He’s an intrepid traveler who loves to seek out hidden alleyways, open air markets and local gardens where ever he is.
Currently, Ryan produces a daily, web talk show with his best friend and college roommate, Ross Mathews. “Inside Dish with Ross Mathews” is an outsider’s point of view of the inside of Hollywood. Come enjoy the fun at www.theinsider.com/dish.
Additionally Ryan has produced shows for Vh1, MTV, Discovery Channel, Playboy TV, Tru TV, and NBC Universal. His writing has been published in “The Advocate” and “Out” magazines.
Ryan is based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Hey,
Live in NOLA. Wanted to welcome you to our little broken hamelt. Hope you enjoy your stay and the fantastic weather we’re having. (Thanks for calling ahead and placing your order with Mother Nature – the locals appreciate it!!)
If you want a good taste of old New Orleans try Laffites Black Smith Shop in the F.Q. and take a cab to Liuzza’s for a “French-alotta” it is a local Italian sandwich on french bread. As we say here in the South, “it’s soooo good, you’ll slap ya mama!!”
Big fan of all things BlogBuddy. Ross said you were here and I made the Scooby Doo noise… “ruuuah” Needless to say, it caught my attention.
Good luck on the blog and stay safe in NOLA. Maybe I’ll see your smiling face at Jazzfest!
Welcome!
Casey
Ryan,

Hi Ryan,
I also took Ross’s advice. I like your observations-the way you see people/life. Keep on writing!!!!!!!
Hi Ryan!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog and ESPECIALLY love the way you write. PLEASE keep it up-you have gained a life-long friend and reader. THANKS ROSS!
:)
The red head “brats” will find their karma tough to swallow once it catches up to them-and I have no doubt it will catch up.
I anxiously await your next entry. Safe travels to you my friend.
Ryan,
Your header at the top of your blog was taken in the gardens at Houma’s House in Louisianna – wasn’t it?
So weird to click on your blog and see an almost exact picture to one I’ve taken and have in my personal image library. I visited last November.
Just wonderin’ if I’m right?

Hi Ryan!
Congrats on your new adventure! I love good writters am one myself…heehee.
I really like the way your website is setup and the pics are fabulous.
Lots of luck. I’m a fan.
Hi Ryan, I love the site. I too am a blogbuddy from the Rossblog. This is so exciting. I was just in New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival. It was a really great time. I go there frequently and have many friends there. You should visit El Gato Negro a Mexican restaurant near the French Market. They hand squeeze the fruit for their Margarita’s. I suggest the Pineapple Cilantro. It was great. Also, you should try Angeli a restaurant near there as well. Mostly vegetarian cuisine and totally yummy! I can’t wait to read about your upcoming travels! Take Care!
Darrell
Thanks to Ross, I am now a daily reader of your blog, too! Great job so far, Ryan! You have a keen sense of insight.

Ryan, It’s great to read your travel stories. I certainly will follow more. I’ve got you down as my favorite.
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I love your writing. Growing up one of my favorite authors was Maya Angelou because I could get lost in her works like this quote form I know why the caged bird sings.
“If growing up is painful for the Southern Black girl, being aware of her displacement is the rust on the razor that threatens the throat. It is an unnecessary insult.”
- Maya Angelou, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings,
I get lost in your stories and look forward to more. I would love to know more about how in your travels you see the change in gay culture
all my best
Michael
WoW… I’m impressed. I love reading about all your adventures and I think you write very eloquently!!!
I love the small details about maid #1 and maid # 2 and the 2 red headed brats on the plane…lol!
Hope to see you soon…
Ryan,
I am so happy for you and proud to see your words strewn across the screen. I can’t wait to read more of your adventures and the chance to see the world through your eyes.
Congrats!
xoxo

Ryan,
I love your blog!! The pictures are incredible! It’s a great escape. I think you should write a book.
Hi Ryan! I enjoy your observational writing. I am ready to hop on a plane to NO! You are right when you said how we at times forget to be in the moment!
Hi Ryan,
I am glad that Ross has pointed us to your blog. I really admire your writing skills and look forward to enjoying reading more of your stories.
Ryan, love your writing. I can see the images and I feel like I’m there with you. It’s cool to see and read about places I haven’t been to.
Ryan,
What a talent you are. I will happily make time in my life to show up to read your use of language in such a beautiful way. One of my best friends is spending 6 months in Iceland right now and blogging about his experiences and love for the beautiful country he is visiting. I am sure you two share similar passions. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint, experiences and talent with others, I look forward to my time here.
Hi Ryan,
I am really enjoying your site! You are a wonderful writer. I look forward to reading more:-)
~Snow

Sup Ryan,
Just found your blog from wordpress.com, and I like it. Good job man. If I’d like to submit a photo, does it have to be my own photo, or can I just use any photo I found somewhere?
Peter.
Peter — Yes, I like the photos to come from the bloggers, so you can tell the story behind the picture.
Also it allows everyone to contribute to the content of the blog. I’m sure you have a cool picture somewhere!
Give it a try; you know how to reach me.
Hi Ryan
Just checking in to see where you are. Hope all is OK with you. Miss the updates. Please say you haven’t left.
Ryan, your writing is captivating! The flow sucks you in and shares your experiences as if we were right beside you. You are a talent! I hope you travel to Canada and take some pics one day.
