An amateur photographer who experiments with angles, light, and colored lenses, I enjoy creating and framing images that capture what I’m experiencing, so you (and all those in my life) can come along for the ride.
Once I’m home from traveling, I love to open my computer and thumb through my images, reliving memories and remembering forgotten moments.
Photographs are my favorite souvenirs. Enjoy!

Wonderful shots!
Beautiful, Ryan, you have a wonderful gift. Hard to pick a favorite, however, Walking on Broken Ice and Fog are two I like so much.
Thank you for sharing these with us, truly pleasurable.
Ryan,
Beautiful pictures!! I love the daisy picture. When my only granddaughter was younger she would pick my flowers in my garden. I would always say to her, “Don’t pick the daisy”. Now she is older and she turns to me whenever she goes to pick a flower and says, “Don’t pick the daisy”.
You captured the moment!!!
Great pictures Ryan…if I had to pick a favorite, I’d be torn between ‘Half and Half’ and ‘Fog’ I think! But I don’t know, I just went back and looked at them all again, and each one is pretty special. Thanks for sharing ♥
How I marvel at the beauty of your spirit, and I am a part of the journey.
Hi Ryan,
Great photos! All of them are amazing but I have to say Fog & Bubbling Brook are my fave! What type of camera/lens do you use?
Cheers,
Susan
RYAN, I WOULDN’T WANT TO BE THE JUDGE ON THESE PICTURE. THEY WOULD ALL COME IN FIRST PLACE.

PICTURES NOT PICTURE. LOL
Beautiful Ryan you need a coffee table book with short stories and pictures. I really like the tombstone pictures as they always make me think of the people and what there life was like xoxo:)J
Oh what gorgeous photographs, Ryan! Your photos from Ireland are particularly stunning.
Awesome Ryan, you are a brilliant photographer. My daughter loves to do this too. She is always snaping shots(with her little digital camera) of local nature, like in our yard…lol! Gotta start somewhere.
Thank you all for the feedback and positive words of encouragement!
More to come!
And, btw, I use a basic point and shoot POWER SHOT (by Canon). I try to always use the manual settings so I can play with the F stop, lenses and natural light.
Ryan,
Awesome shots, my fav is Mountains and Ice from Alaska!
What lovely photographs. If I had to choose a favorite (no easy task!) it would be Fog. Haunting. I agree with SanFranJoe, you should do a coffee table book of your photos and essays. I would so put it on my table!
I understand that some of the passengers on the cruise didn’t enjoy Prince Rupert…made me sad…it’s not the best representation of our Province – but your photo is beautiful! Love that one!! They’re all amazing shots!!
Hi Ryan ~
Loved the pictures of Ireland – those were my favorites. I guess it’s my Irish background that draws me to those photos.
You take wonderful pictures. I try so hard to take pictures like that but it just doesn’t work. I really think it is a talent some people have to be able to capture the beauty of the moment.

All so pretty, especially the daisies! For some tips (if ya want them, certainly no need) see The Pioneer Woman blog…she has some great photos and lots of tips, too!
Ryan,
Beautiful. You have a natural talent for finding beauty thru the camara lens. Thank you for sharing.

Well, mission accomplished! I need/want to go to Ireland now!! How gorgeous. Also, I have never been a fan of “cold” photos, but yours were absolutely beautiful….I have to agree with SFJoe you DO need a coffee table book!!

Hi Ryan,
You take the most beautiful scenic pictures, actually making them more beautiful then being there, if that is possible. You should make a book with those amazing pictures or have them published, you have a great talent and eye.
SusieJO
RYAN,
I WISH I HAD A BOOK WRITTEN BY YOU WITH ALL YOUR BEAUTIFUL PICTURES TODAY. LOSING TWO OF MY BEST FRIENDS TO DEATH, YOUR PICTURES WOULD GIVE ME A TOUCH OF HEAVEN. A COFFEETABLE BOOK WOULD BE SO GREAT LIKE SOMEONE SUGGESTED.

Beautiful shots Ryan! I especially like the old cemetary and the babbling brook.
Thanks for sharing
Ryan…I was browsing for a pic of a bubbling brook; found yours. If it is okay, I would like to use it to illustrate a poem I wrote. I’ll credit you, of course. I NEVER publish or sell my stuff…just give it to friends, etc. In fact, I’m pasting the poem below. If you like it, cut it out, paste it to a new blank doc, the center it in the page; that’s the best presentation. And, I do all these in Times New Roman italics, w/ title and second line in bold. If you’d rather I not use your pic, just tell me and I won’t. Thanks.
The Wish
A city boy’s strange encounter…
It’s long been told in song and rhyme, there are forty shades of green;
I’ve seen them all, though dimly glimpsed in hazy, verdant dreams.
No verse yet penned, no ballad crooned, has captured well and true,
The magic that is Ireland’s hills, above a sea of blue.
I stroll through leafy, shaded dales, gaze deep into a brook.
A silver trout goes flashing by, then stops and turns to look.
“Art thou a fisherman, perchance?” his whisper bubbles through.
“Oh, nay, I’m but a Dublin boy, I mean no harm to you.”
“Thy kindness overwhelms me, sir, therefore l grant to thee,
A wish, but one, so choose with care, and practicality;
I sense thou art a goodly lad; thy heart is pure and kind,
So wish for wealth and happiness, I’ll surely make it thine!”
“My thanks to ye, dear fish,” I said, “Some moments give to me;
We must consider this at length, so kindly ’bide a wee.”
I pondered for a little while, then hurriedly I stand.
“My wish is for an end to war, and peace for Ireland!”
“Oh, dear sir, a saint thou art, but never could I give,
This wish to thee though try I might, until I cease to live.
Thou knows this land was born of war, with bloody battles fought,
Though many’s died to end the strife, their effort’s come to naught.”
“Now that thou hast lost thy wish, pray go thee on thy way,
And shed a tear for Ireland, and those who die today.
So fare thee well, ye gentle lad, until we meet again.”
Then diving down he disappeared, with a flip of graceful fin.
As I surveyed the glen I thought, “Did I imagine this?
“Did a faerie come and speak with me in the likeness of a fish?”
I’ll never know from whence he came, neither where he’s gone,
So I simply turn and walk away, toward my Granda’s home.

Ryan,
These pictures are fantastic! You have a way of capturing nature in its most simplest form and really drawing out the beauty of it with your creative eye for composition and framing. Just gorgeous. Also this site is very cool. I’m glad you are doing well. I’ll be moving out to LA this summer, so we should definitely get together sometime.
