A street car and some beads

  1. I was amazed when I heard that the Quarter and the Garden District didn’t get flooded after Katrina. When you climb up the levees beside the Quarter, and look down at that amazing volume of Mississippi water flowing past, it seems like a miracle that these regions escaped the worst.

New Orleans is so european in its attitudes to fate, life, and death! I think Paul Prudhomme’s restaurant slogan sums it up best: Good cookin’, good eatin’, good lovin’.

Why not? We’re all going to be worm food sooner than we think!
